Jack Jouett: Revolutionary Rider

JJ_Cover_1_8_142On June 3, 1781, Jack Jouett rode forty miles at night over dangerous terrain to warn Governor Thomas Jefferson and members of the Virginia General Assembly that Lt. Col. Banastre Tarleton was coming to capture them. This probably would have ended Virginia’s participation in the war. There would have been no British surrender at Yorktown.
